Margaret Cavendish's status as a duchess published her work under her own name, she was an author and as a scientist with a strong focus and regard for natural sciences. Margaret is the mother of science fiction, one of the first to write a full-length story in the genre, creating perhaps the first true Utopian sci-fi novel in ‘The Blazing World’. She also stood her ground against prominent philosophers of the time and published journals of innovative scientific research.
